Glossary

NPI process
New Product Introduction - the business process of translating market opportunities into volume production, for commercial benefit
NPD process
New Product Development - as NPI, alternative term, though by some to be more focused on the development activities at the expense of effective introduction
Design process The design process can be viewed as a subset of the NPD process, focusing on the cyclical activities of research, evaluation, conceptualisation and implementation of product solutions
Innovation process Often used as an alternative to NIP and NPD and seen by some as more 'holistic'. Most simply defined as the process of moving from invention to implementation
Design
Design can be defined as a process, an outcome of the process (a product) or indeed an ideology. We define (product) design as the process of translating user needs into a manufacturable reality, for commercial benefit, integrating specialist design inputs
Design mix
The collection of product attributes and features, including the 'tangible' engineering based attributes which are often quantifiable and measurable and the 'intangible' user focused based attributes which are often qualitative and subjective
Stakeholders Any party (both internal and external to the company) who has a significant influence over the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and use of a product
Industrial design (ID)
Core ID input relates to the human facing attributes of a product, including usability, ergonomics, aesthetics, style, image, feel and form. ID can be defined more widely to encompass approaches to user understanding, conceptualisation and concept visualisation
Engineering design (ED) Where ID focuses on the 'intangible' product attributes, ED addresses the 'tangible' technology, encompassing performance, manufacture and assembly

Unique and professional website templates. Vooweb - Website Templates offers a great variety of Website templates for business and personal use | If there has been no improvement since the beginning of your relationship with your SEO company, they need to explain why. Then you have a great seo Company working for you. If you don't want to do it yourself, an SEO company being paid monthly should detail exactly what they are doing for you. | Any link exchanges promising hundreds or links immediately upon joining should be avoided unless the only search engine you care about is MSN. Using a link exchange as the only way you get links will also not be a path you want to wander down. Exchanging links with every site under the sun is also bad.
